When an X-Axis has a Y-Axis w/ Plus and Minus Values,
the Values for the X-Axis appear at the "Mid-point" (Value of Zero) on the Chart. Can It appear at the bottom of the Chart...where the "largest Negative Value" is??? TIA - Bob |

Bob,
Yes, double-click on the category axis (the X-Axis at zero). In the Format Axis Dialog box, go to "Tick-mark Labels" - "Low". -- John "Bob Barnes" wrote: When an X-Axis has a Y-Axis w/ Plus and Minus Values, the Values for the X-Axis appear at the "Mid-point" (Value of Zero) on the Chart. A. Bottom quoting
Q. What's the most annoying thing about Microsoft newsreaders? :-) On Thu, 22 Mar 2007, in microsoft.public.excel.charting, Bob Barnes said: "Bob Barnes" wrote: When an X-Axis has a Y-Axis w/ Plus and Minus Values, the Values for the X-Axis appear at the "Mid-point" (Value of Zero) on the Chart. There is a check box in the Y-axis option to make the X-axis line go to the *top*, but to make it go to the bottom, you have to guess what value you want the bottom to be, and set it to that. -- Del Cotter NB Personal replies to this post will send email to , which goes to a spam folder-- please send your email to del3 instead. |

If you like bottom-responding, you're in the minority. It's not just MS
newsreaders, it's every reader I've used, including Netscape and going back to the obscure WinVN of the early or mid 1990's, and it's the way most newsgroups seem to favor. You don't need to guess what minimum value you need. Simply enter a value way smaller than will ever occur on the axis. If the data is likely to stay between -10 and 10, enter a crosses at value of -1000000. This does not affect the minimum axis value, but only where the axis crosses, if the crosses at value is between the min and max of the axis. - Jon ------- Jon Peltier, Microsoft Excel MVP Tutorials and Custom Solutions http://PeltierTech.com _______ "Del Cotter" wrote in message ...
