I have a pivot table that changes size because of the table that it
refers to is dependent on information inputed on another table. explanation: sheet 1 has 3 options you can input (but one column that is empty rests between the 2nd and 3rd column, that's why I can't use a pivot table directly with this table) regular hours, other hours, and department number. sheet two summarizes that table to three columns (essentially eliminating the extra column) Now on sheet one, when no information is inputed in a row, the results are zeros, and the pivot table is empty. But once you enter in information for one day, the table will grow to accomidate the new information. Now if you input, for the second day, information (hours) from a different department number (which is what I'm using the pivot table to sort for) the table will grow again because there is now a new department number. Here's my problem: I have another sheet (sheet 3) that is a summary sheet of all types of hours worked I can't link cells on the summary sheet to the pivot table, because the size of the pivot table changes with how many departments you input that week. Essentially, I may not be able to use the same cell reference twice. Is there any way I can keep the size of the pivot table permament, and when new information is input, it just fills in on the table? That way, I would know the exact cell reference each time.
