Default Dragging data onto a chart

I used to (in Office2003) be able to take a column of data and drag it onto a
graph on a page to create an extra line or sctater-line plot. With the graph
now beign a separate object, it this functionalilty only available through
copy & paste?

Drag+drop data has be deprecated in 2007.
