Default Fill Chart Automatically

Is it posibble for Excel 2003 to have the column or xy scatter chart be
filled with a pattern based on what word is inserted? I have tried using
conditional formating but there is no way of using it.
Please help

If you provide some detail on where the words are inserted, and how you
want the conditional formatting applied, someone may be able to help.

Jon Peltier has instructions for conditional charts:

Perhaps you can adapt his techniques to your workbook.
