Default Pivot Chart Formatting

Hi guys! Does anybody know if there has been any update regarding this
issue (below), or you still workaround with macros?

Microsoft admits they goofed that one up:

XL2000: Changing a PivotChart Removes Series Formatting
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=215904

They suggest you record a macro, so you can reapply the format whenever
the pivot
table is updated.

It still does this in 2003. I haven't tried in 2007, where I know they've
made some improvements to pivot charts.
