Most probably a new Personal.xls came into being (somehow).

Go to the 'Start' button (in Windows) and do a search for Personal or
Personal.xls and see what comes up. Hopefully it is still out there
someplace. If it is than move it to the XLStart folder in Office.

Make a habit of saving a copy to someplace safe on a routine schedule.
