Take a look at

If you can predict that the problem will occur within 3-4
days could you try simply assigning the wheel mouse
button to Enter and see if it happens again soon. AND REPORT
back. If you don't want to experiment update your
mouse drivers. Nothing works for everybody, and nothing
works permanently but I've only had the problem once
in a couple of years now connected to PS/2 but the last
six months on USB so I could use a separate keyboard.
