Is anyone able to tell me whether my recent question
has been posted on the excel disscusion forum?

with a subject of 'Conditional format using date' (or
something very similar)
I had no problem finding a posting by Simon (not simon67) dated 4/4/2010
(not 4/5) 8:26am PT with the subject "conditional format cells by date" in
the forum "Excel General Questions" (NG microsoft.public.excel.misc).
Using the MS Discussion Groups web interface, I found it by clicking on your
name, then "Recent Posts by this user".
However, given the unreliability of the MSDG search feature, it would not
surprise if your search fails, at least intermittently.
I was also unable to coerce the Google Groups search feature to find your
articles, even when I provided the message ID. I did not even find it
manually. But that might have been my oversight, since someone had posted a
response using GG.
For that reason, I am unable to offer an HTTP link to help you find the
thread. Perhaps the following will help:

The Xref line provides the article number on the MSnews server.
I had already captured your 4/4 inquiry from the MSnews server. But I just
verified that the article is still there.
Is this a common problem?
It is a common problem that people do not know how to use the MS Discussion
Groups web interface effectively. It is also a common problem that the MSDG
search feature is unreliable. So it is not uncommon for users of the MSDG
web interface to lose track of their own postings.
There is no panacea. As I noted above, GG search often fails (for me). And
if you set up a newsreader (like Outlook Express) to read from the MSnews
server, your ability to keep track of your postings will depend on your own
computer skills.
