Default splitting content of a field

Text to Columns is your best bet. BUT, if want formulas

=LEFT(A1,FIND(" ",A1)-1) will extract 1st name
=MID(A1,FIND(" ",A1)+1,256) will extract surname.

How do you spit one field containing [name, last name] into two fields--
one
with name and the other with last name.
