Default time scale proportional using a column chart - not just for scatte

You are missing the fact that the X axis on a column chart is a list of
categories, not values. You are right that if you want values you should
use XY.

I have had 2 requests in the past two weeks from quality dept. on how to
chart data with the x axis time in Hrs and the Y being some measurement
result(ie. roll hardness, #particles)
I know we can do this with the XY- Scatter chart but both groups want to
use
the Column chart -
The X-axis just looks at the HRS and puts them same distance with each
other
no matter what the value is-

I can't believe there is not a way around this to make the column chart X
axis(independent axis) to be spaced based on the ACTUAL values

What am I missing???

Thanks,
Barb
