This can happen when the Autosave is being used. Check your Excel settings,
you may want to disable the autosave feature.

Sometimes in between while working with a single or multiple excel files
copy and paste will not work, i have to restart my system and relogin
again.
When i do Ctrl+C the cell gets selected and stops, it will not be active
till
i cancel it or save or untill i select any other option.
