Hello again Andy
I think I understand your solution of somehow making a combination that
shows the wanted sequence!
But Im not quiet understanding the logic in your example!
As the original "non-filtered" data shows that the labels linked to column B
("data") with the value 1 is "AA" "CC" "EE" "GG" and "II" nevertheless when
you filter out values equal to 2 you'll get that the labels linked to value
equal 1 is "AA" "BC" "CE" "DG" and "EI" in the chart eventhough the data
actually shows a third way (which still is not aligned with the original
data!)
Actually what you end up with ,in you link
(
http://www.andypope.info/ngs/ng57.htm) , is the same diagram as you start
out with!! - Making me alittle confused :p
Maybe I just misunderstood the actaully purpose you are trying to illustrate
.... anyway, I appriciate your help and if you understand where I go wrong am
I very interested in receiving your assistance.
thank you once again

Hello Again.
Andy I hope you can help come up with a solution to the problem I
encountered from using the software you showed.
I do like it still ofcause, but it comes with an issue so fare!!
My situation is this:
I got my self around 200 rows of different car types ... when I wish my
diagram to show only one certain car type, I filter out the unwanted cars and
then leave my diagram showing only the 1 car type I like to view (e.i., VW
golf (maybe 18 cars))
Now the original row numbers to these 18 cars (label names) I link to may
vary from 3 to 78, but the chart labels still starts a 1 .. going up to 18
(or the amount of cars selected) - now I would like the labels to show
3,5,19,23 ...etc
Am I stucked with this error or am I using it incorrectly??
Hope to hear from you again.

Awesome .. i love it!
I love that fact that it still is compadable to other versions than just the
English!! (I my self is using a Danish Excel version .. but still works)
Nice little application, and easy to handle.
Thank you very much Andy

Hi,
Simplest way is to use this free add-in,
http://www.appspro.com/Utilities/ChartLabeler.htm
which will enable you to link data labels to cells.

I consider myself as a fairly competent excel user, but I seriuosly got
stucked on this on!!
Im duing a simple scattered chart with prices up along Y-axis and miles
along the X-axis ... But I would like each scattered dot to be named after
"my coloum N" which is car1, car2, car3 ...etc (Meaning .. If I have 30
Cars...where is car no. 1 in the chart and where is car no. 30) ??
The only luck I had so fare was either to show the X, Y- value or chart
name!!!
Hope someone can assist me if it is possible..
Thanks in advance
