You can use a help column, assume the data starts in A1 (replace a1 in the
formula with the first cell of your data)
=OFFSET($A$1,ROW(1:1)*87-1,)
copy down as long as needed, select the new column, copy it, do editpaste
special as values in place, delete original column

I have a single column of data almost 35000 rows long. Most of it is
complete garbage, and only every 87th row is important. What can I do to
make a new column that contains only those 401 rows that are important?
