Default pivot table cannot group selection

Check your pivot table source data range, and make sure that you haven't
included any blank rows at the end.

Tks found the error, was a setting of date

If Excel can recognize the values as dates, you'll get the grouping optons.

Post a sample of your "dates". Perhaps we'll spot an issue.

I am working in a pivot table, dragged my dates in from source data and want
to group, it gives me error message " cannout group selection". I took out
all blanks. Will not even give me the option to choose month, year, etc.
