Default Conditional Formatting with range

If your Friday dates are in, say, column E then apply this formula in CF:

=ISNUMBER(MATCH(E2,I:I,0))

I have a calendar and in the Friday column I want the cells to reformat
if they match a range of dates located elswhere in the spreadsheet. The
application is work hours have to be submitted on Friday every 2 weeks.
Because these dates are constantly changing but not the day (Friday), I
need a formula that will recognize the dates in the RANGE and then if it
matches or equals the date in the Friday COLUMN I need it to reformat.

If there is another way to achieve this result I'm all ears. I may be
approaching this problem from the wrong angle.
