Default very odd bubble chart problem

Yours work a bit better than mine,
but still, it's not supposed to work like that:

Try selecting just 9 rows and you may see how it is supposed to work

Please verify that you are using Excel 2007 SP2.

I select a 3 column by 50 row range of numerical data and insert a bubble
chart. The chart has a single data series (with three values for each data
point). Initially there is no series name, but I can select the data series
by clicking a point on the chart and then edit the =SERIES in the formula
bar to add a series name if I wish. Although I have x,y,z labels above each
column of data, those cells are not included in the data series range. So, I
don't observe any misbehavior using Excel 2007 SP2.

Weird bubble chart problem:

Using excel 007, I'm having trouble with what used to be the chart
wizard when I try to create a bubble chart.

I've set it up with X, Y, and Z columns and 50 (state) data points
with variable labels in the first row.

When I highlight all that and insert a bubble chart it does not seem
to recognize that the first row are the series names. *The data
selection shows no series name and the data ranges start with the
label cells.

Oddly, it works fine if I only highlight 14 rows (13 states).
Anything more and it goes bust.
Indiana messes me up everytime. *I've checked for non-numeric data
cells, there are none.

I can do it with 13 datapoints and then stretch the matrix down to
make it work.

But it's not supposed to work like that. *If I were a Canadian, I
wouldn't complain....
