Default Excel 2007 files opens blank- need to click on Office button tovi

I have the exact symptoms as the OP.
Tried the solution in the reply but same symptoms still.

Any other ideas?
I can't believe MS hasn't fixed this in SP2.

Try the usual fix for this.

ToolsOptionsGeneral *Uncheck "Ignore Other Applications etc."

In2007that would be ButtonExcel OptionsAdvancedGeneral

You said you tried that already so on to next step.

Close Excel first and On the Windows Taskbar

1) StartRun "excel.exe /unregserver"(no quotes)OK.
2) StartRun "excel.exe /regserver"(no quotes)OK.

See the space between exe and /regserver

You might have to designate a full path to excel.exe.

In that case StartRun "C:\yourpath\excel.exe" /regserver(quotes
required)OK.

When any .xlsx file is launced{dbl-clicked} (from the desktop or from Windows

on Office buttonopenand select the file name.

I have tried this as a potential solution...
In Microsoft Office Excel2007, click the Microsoft Office Button, and then
click Excel Options. *Click Advanced, and then click to clear the Ignore
other applications check box in the General area. *Click OK.

Now the files won'topenat all. *Has anyone seen this? *Thanks much!
