Default 2003 - Import XML

Karin,

a supplier started sending me XML files and I couldn't read them as I
use XL2000. However, with OpenOffice also installed on my PC, I could
use that to open the XML files and then save them as XLS.

Hope this helps.

Help/About says "Standard Edition" - perhaps that is the problem. *Bummer,
I'm trying to get an Expert certification and need to learn importing XML

I should have added in my original reply that only MS Office 2003
Professional edition supports XML.

Do you have something else like Student edition?

ToolsCustomizeCommandsData.

Scroll down to bottom and you will find some XML commands which you drag up
to Data menu or place on a New Toolbar.

I am using a book to learn more advanced options. *The book says I should be
able to point to the Data menu and choose XML in order to import XML files. *
I went to the Excel help, which told me the same thing. *However, my Data
menu has no XML option. *Is there something I have to load?

Thank you.
