Default decimal number interpreted as a date

Might be worth looking at your Windows Regional Options (in Control Panel).
If you've got date formats specified there as d.m.y, it might be worth
seeing what happens if you change to d/m/y and try putting the number in
again after that.

2.7 ----2 july
just to make sure Excel uses comma for the decimal separator 2,7 gives
the
same result

Please give an example of such a number, and how Excel interprets it.

When entering a decimal number, SOMETIMES Excel interprets it as a

date -
how shall I fix it?
