Default Consolidated Values for a Pie chart

Let's say the table begins in A1 (with the label "Supplier")
In some other area, say G1:20, enter a list of suppliers
Supplies Total
Supplier 1 <formula goes here
Supplier 2

In H2 enter =SUMIF(A:A,G2,B:B) to total all the items related to Supplier 1.
Copy this down the column

This will work provided you know ahead of time who the suppliers are.
Failing that, the best bet is to dive into pivot tables. They appear
daunting at first but are so useful that the effort to master them is worth
the time

John Walkenbach also has some at:

(look for Tony Gwynn's Hit Database)

Chip Pearson keeps Harald Staff's notes at:

MS has some at (xl2000 and xl2002):

I have a lot of data within a table. I am trying to create a pie
chart, which I will need to update on a monthly basic, so really I
don't want to have to create a separate table of data which then needs
to be inserted in a chart.

My information goes along the lines of:
Supplier Value
Supplier 1 £10.00
Supplier 1 £10.00
Supplier 1 £9.00
Supplier 1 £9.00
Supplier 1 £9.00
Supplier 1 £9.00
Supplier 1 £9.00
Supplier 1 £9.00
Supplier 1 £9.00
Supplier 1 £9.00
Supplier 1 £9.00
Supplier 1 £9.00
Supplier 2 £9.00
Supplier 2 £9.00
Supplier 2 £9.00
Supplier 2 £9.00
Supplier 2 £9.00
Supplier 2 £9.00
Supplier 2 £9.00
Supplier 2 £9.00
Supplier 2 £9.00
Supplier 2 £9.00
Supplier 2 £9.00
Supplier 2 £9.00
Supplier 2 £9.00
Supplier 2 £9.00
Supplier 3 £10.00

Can I create a pie chart out of this?

I have tried to create three separate series with the value field
container the values for that one supplier, but this does not seem to
work.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
