Default Filling in blank cells with information from cells above it

Let's assume your data is in the range A1:A20 with empty cells scattered
within the range.

Select the *entire* range A1:A20
Hit function key F5SpecialBlanksOK
Type in an equal sign = (do not hit enter!)
Hit the up arrow key
Then hold down the CTRL key then hit ENTER

I have a report that I export to Excel that contains financial activity on
loans. Unfortunately, it does not repeat the account number when more
than
one transaction has occurred during the period. How can I automatically
fill
in the missing account numbers from the cell above so I can run subtotals
or
pivot tables? Sometimes there can be several transactions so it might be
one
blank cell or several.
