Default excel 2003 to 2007 colors

Hello,

I'm sure this has been answered several times, but...I am slow...and
would appreciate someone providing me a link or a "how-to"
instructions on this:

What I'd like to do is create a customized color palette and then save
that in a new theme and then have that be my "DEFAULT" whenever I load
excel. Is that possible?

We have a lot of spreadsheets created in 2003 that I need color
compatibility with. Can I create a new palette with those colors and
save it and somehow get it to load that theme whenever I load a new
(or also previously saved workbook).

If so, how do I proceed in order to do this? I've also seen
references to using "format painter" but I don't really understand
that either.

Has anyone created a THEME and saved it from the excel 2003 version?
I looked at MS Office's web-site but didn't see such a saved theme.

I would be very grateful for any help and suggestions you can give.

Thank you so much in advance,
ga
