Hi,

Excel 2003 supports only 3 levels of conditional formatting. If you
purchase 2007 you will be able to do as many as you want. However, as I read
the question that is not really the problem:

1. Select the cells you want to format in this case B1
2. Choose Format, Conditional Formatting
3. Choose Formula is from the first drop down
4. In the second box enter the formula:
=OR($A$1="Green",$A$1="Black",$A$1="Red",$A$1="Pur ple")
5. Click the Format button
6. Choose a color on the Patterns tab (or any available option)
7. Click OK twice.
