Default Excel 2002: Advance filter -How to select table with unique re

Hi Don,

I retry today and find that Excel only recognise a row of data as unique
with other rows with the same code in column A provided the contents in
coulmn B, C are exactly the same.

Otherwise it will filter all the records eventhough the code in column A is
the same.

That explains why I failed to get what I wanted yesterday.

Thanks anyway.

Low

I don't understand why filter in place for the desired range wouldn't work.
If desired, send your file to my address below with this and before/after
examples.

Hi,

I have the following table:

A B C
1 Code Date Amount
2 A6 XXX XXX
3 A6
4 B7
5 B7
6 K4
7 K4
250 Z6

252 Code

256 Code
A6
B7

I would like to filter table $A$1:$C$250 where the Code in column A is
unique.

I go to Data Filter Advance Filter , highlight the table as my first
parameter, than set criteria of filtering ias A252 (Code), choose copy the
filtered data to A 260, check at Unique data and click OK. I tried that
many
times however it does not work. Neither it works if if I first filter
unique
codes to A256 and use it a a criteria for filtering. May I know the
correct
way of getting what I wish ?

Thanks
