Please help me with my formula to eliminate the "#VALUE"

=FIND("(R(9997 - 9998)",F3)-1

When I try to add =IF(ISERROR to this formula, I alway get a error or
missing parens or formula to short or contains an error. I know it's my
syntax but I can figure out where.
