Default I'M GETTING A DOT INSTEAD OF A SPACE

Harald, you must be psychic!

That backwards P symbol is called a pilcrow. (I like trivia.)

(to see a picture)

In MSWord 2003, you can also toggle this via:
Tools|Options|View tab
Uncheck the options in the Formatting marks section.

(Or uncheck as many as you want????)

You are using Word, not Windows, 2003, and the setting "Show paragraph
marks" is turned on. It is a button with a fat P-like figure on yout
toolbar, click it.

You are also posting Word problems to an Excel forum. Word is a program that
comes free with Excel purchases, but there is far better Word knowledge in a
Word forum ;-)

HTH. Best wishes Harald
