Default Find and Replace function not working

How are your lists built?, are they created by formula or is it a table?
has the data been imported?

It's quite possible that you have leading spaces or similar problem.

I have three different list of customers, actually one list that is set
up
based on different criteria, (#1 name, #2 address, #3 salesman). Each
list is
set up so that each beginning letter is seperated as such;
A
Adams
B
Bobby

On one list, the "find and replace" feature works perfect, the next one
it
works sometimes, not all the time, and the last list it does not work
at all.
What is the problem? And how do I fix it?

Thanx
