Did you follow Bernard's second advice?
< then maybe the cell is formatted text; delete formula, reformat cell to
General, retype formula
Don't forget to retype (F2, ENTER); just changing the format is not enough.

Same problem almost: happens in every cell and view formulas is not on
(tried
toggling it on and off to no avail.

Does this happen in any cell? Say you type =F3+1 in cell Z1.
If YES - sound like you have view formulas on; use CTRL+` (key next to
!/1
on top row) to switch this off
If NO - then maybe the cell is formatted text; delete formula, reformat
cell
to General, retype formula
best wishes (tell us what happens)

Hi,
I am using Excel 07 and trying to format a gradebook that will
calculate
grade percentages.
For example:
Grade Total % out of 65
63 ________
So, in the blank area, I do the formula: =F3/65 (F3 being the
cell
that says 63)
The formula just stays there and doesn't calculate. I have tried
clicking
on
'calculate now' and such, but no luck. I have also tried other
formulas,
and
nothing happens.
I am sure this is just a stupid mistake on my part, but could someone
please
help?
