Marty,
An easy way to do this is:
Build Chart using sheet1 A17
When the chart looks like you want it.

Select the chart, it will have a box around the whole chart.
Right-mouse-click and select "Data Source"
Select the tab "Series"
Add a series, in the Name: box Left-mouse-click to select it.
Then just select the cell you would like to add sheet2 A17.
