Default Excels auto recovery file is saving as a backup, how do i stop tha

Recovery as in autorecovery, right?

The recovery file isn't hidden. But it's usually stored in an out of the way
place that you wouldn't notice.

Make sure that the folder location is where you want it.

In xl2003 menus:
Tools|Options|Save
change the autorecover save location.

I've never changed mine (xl2003 and winXP home) and it points to:

C:\Documents and Settings\(username)\Application Data\Microsoft\Excel\
