Excel changing Path of Formulas
All of the files reside on the server and are never moved or emailed. When
they are changed they are re-saved to their original location on the server.
I started this process a year ago this past January and have never had a
problem until 2 months ago. I noticed that some of the formulas, but not
all, had changed from the server drive: to the C:. I used the Find & Replace
but the next time I opened the spreadsheet, they had randomly changed again.
I have been working with Excel for over 15 years and have never seen formulas
change like this and I am positive no one else has had access to these files.

One way I've seen this happen is if you have one or more of the linked files
open and you save themto the C:\ drive. This will cause the links in Excel
to follow to the new path (C:\). You didn't mention email, but I've seen
this happen when folks email files back and forth. The links may get changed
to the local Outlook temp folder.
Can you provide any more specific information about when it seems to happen?

I work with a rather large spreadsheet that has several hundred external
formulas. All of the spreadsheets are on a server drive. Excel seems to be
changing the path of the formulas from the server (EX: U) to my C: drive. Is
there any way I can stop this from happening?
