Default Excel 2007 - Linking workbooks

Take a look at the data tools "Consolidate." It was made specifically for
this purpose.

Before up upgrading to office 2007/vista, the master workbook would take a
few minutes to open. Now that I have converted the workbooks into excel
2007, the master can take up to 10 minutes to open, yes our network is a bit
slow, waiting for that to get upgraded.

But wandering if there is a better way for me to link these workbooks so it
may not take as long to open.
