Default Date functions in Spanish

For spelling: have you experimented with Excel Options | Proofing -
Dictionary Language ...Spanish?
Just a suggestion, I have no idea if it works.

In this 'global economy', maybe MS should make it easier to have dates
(names or days & months) show in any language just by formatting (not by
changing regional setting) - we can have international money symbols so why
not date text?

Has anyone had experience with implementing language options in Excel
2007? If so, we would like to know how to configure a worksheet so that
the date functions and formats will return a date in Spanish rather than
English. We are able to properly apply spell checks by setting the
language in the language bar, but are not sure how to designate that
certain cells (or a full worksheet) return Spanish text for date, or
other, text formulas?
