What do you mean with "links an excel file to powerpoint'? I am familiar with
excel files embedded in powerpoint files, ie the powerpoint file has the full
excel file in it - which sounds more like what you have. Open the powerpoint
file, scan for anything that would have come from the xls file that you are
looking for (such as a graph or table) and doubleclick that.
