To prevent the error until data is entered:

=IF(ISERROR(AVERAGE(IF((ISNUMBER(A1:A31))*(K1:K31< 0),K1:K31))),"",AVERAGE(IF((ISNUMBER(A1:A31))*(K1 :K31<0),K1:K31)))

Still array entered.
