Default Locking Excel cell formating and editing, copying and pasting cont

Excel's sheet protection will only lock down editing on cells you specify.

As far as allowing people to copy & paste the entire sheet, try creating a
command button and link it to a macro which unprotects the sheet, copies it
to the clipboard, then protects the sheet again.

You commented about things moving around on you when copying and
pasting...just wondering if copying and pasting is really necessary. Have
you tried Excel's CAMERA functionality? Might be worth checking out. You
can take an "always live" picture of a specific area of a worksheet (which
will include everything, even invisible gridlines, so turn those off if you
don't want them to appear) and paste that "always live" shot anywhere you
like (another worksheet for printing, for instance). You can take as many
snapshots of any areas you want and put them all in a nice, neat,
print-friendly sheet and the data on that sheet will always be a "live" view
of the actual data.

Is there a way to lock Excel cell format on just part of a worksheet AND
allow editing of same cell contents AND allow copy and paste of entire
worksheet? This is needed particularly for areas that have "check boxes" in
the area that I want to protect the formating. The "check boxes" tend to
move in relation to their original placement each time the worksheet is
copied and pasted after editing. I am using Excel 2003.
