To convert to numbers -
Enter 1 anywhere on the sheet
Copy the cell where you entered 1
Select your column of numbers as TEXT
Choose Edit-Paste Special and then check MULTIPLY and press OK

Or

Select the col
Choose Text to Columns and choose data type as Numbers...

For decimal point divide by the appropriate number (10, 100, 1000...)
