Default Date set up

You cannot create input masks for dates as you have tried to do.

Excel will accept dates only with a de-limiter such as / or -

If you want to enter dates as you suggest, you would need VBA code.

See Chip Pearson's site for quickentry of dates.

http://www.cpearson.com/excel/DateTimeEntry.htm

Or Ron de Bruin's QDE add-in.

Can I just punch-in the numbers for the month, day & year, without the
slashes and Excel shall put the date (in the cell) in the format that I want?
