Default locking selected cells on multiple worksheets

By default, all cells are locked. To lock only some cells and leave
the rest unprotected, you need to first unlock all cells. To do this,
click the select-all button -- the gray box above the row number and
to the left of the column letters (or press CTRL A twice) -- and then
go to the Format menu, chose Cells, then the Protection tab, and
uncheck the "Locked" option. Click OK. Then, select the cells that you
want to lock. go back to the format cells dialog and check the
"Locked" option. When you Protect the worksheet, only those cells will
be locked.
