Default Formula

Did you see the worksheet I sent you?

No. Did you click on the Reply button? If you did then it would have gone
to mailinator.com which is a spam trap that I do not check. Please resent
it to:

sandymann2 at_sign tiscali.co.uk

making it into a real address .

Still not too much detail but assuming that:

1: Cell C1 holds 49
2: Cell D1 holds 100
3: Cell C40 has the total hours worked that month
4: Cell E40 had the numnber of nights

Then try:

=1000+MAX(C40-144,0)*B1+MIN(E40,4)*D1

However, it would be better to put the 1000, 144 & 4 in other cells and
then
refer to that cell so that when something changes you only have to change
that one cell and all formulas will use the new value.

Employee A is paid a base monthly salary of $1,000. She will
receive a
bonus
of $100/night over four nights a month. She will receive another
bonus
of
$49/hour for every hour over 144 hours.

Column D is the $100/night and Column B is the $49/hour.

I am new at this.
