Hi!

That can't be done.

You would have to let the user enter the new value in another cell. A cell
can contain two types of entries: a formula or a constant (a value entered
manually) but not both.

Vlookup should be able to do that. Maybe post back with more specific

1) Value to be ENTERED on SHEET 1 COL B1 if A1 VALUE DOES NOT EXIST IN
COLUMN A SHEET 2.OTHERWISE ALLOW USER TO MAKE AN ENTRY IN SHEET 1 B1.
