Hi - Is there a formula that allows me to reveal a cell's format in Excel
2003? I want to be able to distinguish between cells in bold font (e.g.
return "true") vs cells not in bold font (e.g. return "false")? Any help
appreciated! Thanks.

You could download and install Longre's free morefunc.xll add-in from
http://xcell05.free.fr/ and then use the XLM.GET.CELL function.
