formatting of the graph pic didn't work....
what i was trying to show was
the bottom line on the graph (y-value=5) goes from x=a to x=b
the middle line on the graph (y-value=10) goes from x=b to x=c
the top line on the graph (y-value=15) goes from x=a to x=c

all lines are horizontal
