I presume the "holding window" is how you describe the ChartObject, i.e.,
the shape containing the embedded chart. Drag the handles on the shape while
holding the Alt key to make the shape snap to the cell boundaries.
To resize the plot within the shape, select the plot area, the rectangle
defined by the chart axes. resize this plot area as needed to reduce the
unused space around the plot.
