Very Large Files
It's worth checking that you don't have wasted space in rows and/or columns
beyond the end of your real data. Control-End will get you to the end of
what Excel thinks is the used area, so you can delete rows or columns back
from there to the real data. Then save.

Our company uses an application called Hyperion to download information
from
Oracle into Excel. In order to download information I am having to use a
template devloped by Corporate. After the download, the file is quite
large,
usually in the 5-7Mb range.
In order to decrease the file size I highlight the entire worksheeet and
then Copy - Paste Special - Values. Even after doing that, the still
remains
at the 5-6Mb range and this becomes a problem when I try to email the
file.
After doing the Copy-Paste Special I would have expected this file to be
way
under 1Mb in size. I am thinking that there must be a hidden file or files
or
that there is a macro some where which I can't get rid of.
Can anyone help me identify exactly why the file remains so large and then
how I can decrease the file size.
Thanks.
