One way to 'trick' Excel to have two extra (hidden if required) cols where
you can separate the nubmers and characters and sort on those cols.

It's hard to explain. The problem is that I have to use numbers in an
ascending order whilst the letters go in a descending order. Oh, and the
number and letter need to be in the same cell!
