Default Tick Mark on a Bar Chart - 2007

Hi,

If you want the axis tick marks in the center of the column you will
need to format the axis to not Cross between categories. This will
though truncate the first and last column in the data series.

If not want you meant maybe you can email the file off newsgroup and add
a illustration of what you are trying to achieve.

Thanks for your response. I did exactly what you recommended, but the tick
marks appear slightly to the right of the column. Is there a way to have the
tick mark overlap directly over the column I am comparing to? Thanks -

Hi,

If I understand your request you can do the following.

Create a clustered column chart for both 2008 and 2007 data.
Select the series for 2007 data and change the chart type to Line.
You can change the format to not plot the line and only display the marker.

Cheers
Andy

I have multiple columns with 2008 Data. I also have another column with 2007
Data. Instead of creating a bar chart with one bar for 2008 and one bar for
2007. I cannot seem to figure out if possible to have one bar for 2008, then
to have a tick mark, or any other indicator, for the prior year data (2007)
to sit on top(overlap) of the 2008 bar. Is this possible? Thanks
