Default Excel Data Ranges Columns

Hi
Thanks, but no.
Version is 2007.
I am not talking about a directly named range.
This is where the range referring to the external data, automatically called
something like "TableExternalData1", is extended to include the new column.
This then makes available the "[" functionality etc allowing one to specify
the named columns rather than the range address for formulae.
It is frustrating as it continues to work on my own machine but has stopped
working on a colleagues machine and we are trying to figure out how to turn
it back on for her machine.

hi
what version xl are you using?
2003 here.
are we talking about named ranges?
if so, adding a column (or row) next to a named range doesn't automaticly
extend the the named range. only when the column (or row) is added within the
named range will the named range be extended. if added outside the named
range, i think you will just have to rename/redefine.

post back if i misunderstood.

Hi
Has anyone seen a problem whereby the addition of a new column heading
beside an existing data range does not cause the range to be extended to
include this column. The selection to "extend rows and columns" is turned
on. Is there some similar option dealing with data ranges, different from
excel ranges?

Thanks in Advance
