Default CTRL Spacebar no longer works

I don't have another suggestion.

Maybe you could ask in a Lenovo forum to find out if it's related to the
thinkpad???

Hi Dave,

Nope, not using any programmable keyboards. Just using my Lenovo thinkpad.

And neither am I using multiple monitors.

I've been given suggestions that it's the language bar and that I may also
need to unregister Excel from the registry.

Tried these and nothing.

Argh!

Do you have one of those programmable keyboards? Maybe it's been programmed to
do something different when ctrl-spacebar is hit???

And a silly guess...
Do you use multiple monitors?

Hi guys,

I have a long history working with Excel and I have always relied on the
keyboard shortcuts to zip through my heavy spreadsheet work.

For some reason that I cannot fathom, the keyboard shortcut for highlight
column, CTRL-Spacebar, no longer works. The shortcut for highlight row
(SHIFT-Spacebar) works just fine.

I have trawled the web for answers to my queries and the closest "I Don't
Know" answer is he

I have tried using the CTRL-Spacebar shortcut in safe mode but it is still
not functioning.

Do any of you know of any reasons why this should be happening? The closest
answer I can think of is that another program is intercepting the
CTRL-Spacebar keystrokes. However, I can't remember installing anything
recently other than XP Service Pack 3.

All help is definitely appreciated!

PS: My Excel version is 2003
