Default can I open a excel file made on a XLcomp W/A vistacomp. MSWord?

It's got nothing to do with the operating system. Both XP and Vista can run
similar programs.

There is a format difference between Excel 2007 and previous versions.
Native Excel 2007 files have an .xlsx extension. If this is your problem,
you can:

1. Save the file as .xls in 2007
2. Download the Office compatibility pack from he

Is there a way to open a excel file created on a computer running windows
XP
on a computer running Vista? I get a message saying unknown format or
something to that effect. Thank you in advance.
